As a high-quality product, the Shark Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner CZ500UKT is one step higher than the competition, providing multiple power modes and flexible cleaning functions. It is not easy to store, but the cleaning performance is superb, making it the best overall drum cleaner I have tested.

Shark is famous for its cordless and upright vacuum cleaners, but here we launched some new products: Shark Bagless Cylinder vacuum cleaner CZ500UKT. Although the old cylindrical design is not as popular as before, the smaller body and more flexible head can fit well under most furniture, making them popular with some people (including me).

CZ500UKT uses the Shark technology that I know and love, including Flexology and Anti Hair Wrap, which is an excellent roller cleaner.

Shark CZ500UKT measures only 260 x 900 x 1180 mm and is a small cylindrical vacuum cleaner. However, it looks great, with lots of curves and rose gold details around the body. Its weight is 7.99 kg, which makes it a rather heavy cleaner overall-but the weight is on the body, tools and wand. The main body weighs only 4 kg and is very easy to lift.

However, you don't have to lift the CZ500UKT too frequently, because you mainly use the four wheels to pull the body and use the DuoClean floor cleaning head for cleaning.

Like Shark's latest vertical cleaners (such as NZ850UKT), the DuoClean nozzle here has a soft roller for hard floors and a brush for carpets, with a set of LED lights that can illuminate the path you are cleaning. .

There is also Anti Hair Wrap technology, so the brush will not get tangled with the hair. It also works, so I don't have to use scissors to cut long hair from the brush roller.

Thanks to the long hose and magic wand, the floor head is very easy to push and the weight on the hand is very small. And, because the wand has no volume, you can easily place your head under most furniture. Thanks to Flexology, the wand can be hinged in the middle with the push of a button, so you can vacuum under the object without bending over.

The 9m power cord is very convenient and can be neatly retracted into the cylinder with the push of a button.

Ingeniously, Shark puts all the controls on the back of the handle, so there is no need to bend over to complete this work. You have an on/off switch, three power modes, and a switch that adjusts between carpet and hard floor modes, which can adjust the speed of the floor rollers.

For detail cleaning, you can use the foot-operated eject button (again, without bending over) to eject from the head of the floor-and use the wand and hose, or give up the wand and use only the hose.

Shark provided a crevice tool and brush-in addition, for this model, a mini electric pet tool, perfect for stairs and furniture.

There are two tool spaces on the back of the wand, so you can carry the tool you are most likely to use with you.

The length of the hose allows you to enter hard-to-reach areas and climb multiple steps on the stairs without having to move the cylinder frequently. The wand can even provide enough range to clean your ceiling.

One of the problems with cylinder vacuum cleaners is that they are not stored neatly and the hoses will fly around. This is the case here; an upright or cordless vacuum cleaner is a more concise choice. However, Shark has done what it can.

There are some clips on the back of the vacuum cleaner to fix the vacuum cleaner upright, which is very convenient if you need to pause while vacuuming. You can also stand the CZ500UKT vertically and clamp the wand in it. This is a storage mode, but you still need to find a way to wrap the hose neatly.

Dirt is sucked into a 1.6-liter bagless trash can. This will lift up and open in front. Compared with the trash can on the vertical cleaner, it is a bit short. You can also lift the cone in the middle to get everything cleaned properly. If you prefer bags, you need something bigger and heavier, such as Numatic Henry.

As standard configuration of most vacuum cleaners, Shark CZ500UKT is equipped with two washable filters: one is located under the trash can and the other is located on the back of the vacuum cleaner.

I used a 2-inch opening to measure the raw performance of all vacuum cleaners at the hose. This allows me to compare the original suction power of AirWatts. Here, CZ500UKT is 92.26AW in Eco mode, 227.8AW in standard mode, and 284.82AW in Max mode. This is consistent with an upright cleaner.

Although the original performance provides an indicator of cleaning ability, my actual test shows how effective the cleaning agent is. Starting from the carpet test, I conducted a standard test on CZ500UKT. Sprinkle a teaspoon of flour on the carpet, and I run the cleaner on a standard power supply. As you can see, there is a clear edge in the middle of the chaos with sharp edges.

For the remaining flour, I again passed the top of Turbo and the bottom of Eco mode. As you can see, the effect of the two modes is the same.

Facts have proved that there is no problem with pet hair. Shark CZ500UKT can easily pick out the cat hair I combed onto the carpet.

Turning to the difficult carpet square test, where I sprinkled flour on the skirting board, CZ500UKT performed well in standard mode, although it left a small amount of flour on the edges.

Switching to Boost mode cleared everything except a small amount of flour; there are no things that the crevice tool cannot handle.

Finally, I conducted a hard floor test, sprinkled a teaspoon of rice on the floor, and then ran a vacuum at standard power. Every grain in the path of the head was picked up cleanly, and no grain fell from the head to the floor.

For noise, I measured the Shark cleaner at 71.3dB in Boost mode, down to 65.9dB in standard mode, and 63.8dB in Eco mode.

If you want a high-quality cylinder vacuum cleaner with all modern shortcomings, including adjustable power modes and electric floor suction heads, this is the first choice.

If you are looking for cleaners that are cleaner and easier to store, the upright or cordless models may be more suitable for you.

If you like the idea of a cylinder vacuum cleaner, but don't want to miss the accessories that usually have a column (such as an electric floor suction head), then the Shark Bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner CZ500UKT is a good choice. If you are after something different, or upright, then my guide to the best vacuum cleaner has many options to meet your needs.
